Description

Please join us for a special event on broadband priorities for 2017 and beyond. A pre-event networking reception will be held at Google’s DC office near Capitol Hill on Tuesday, November 29th from 5:30-7:30pm.

The main event will be held on Wednesday, November 30th from 8:30am-2pm at the same location.

Transforming Communities will bring together broadband champions from Congress, the Executive Branch, other federal, state and local agencies, community leaders including mayors and heads of anchor institutions, policy experts, and 2016 presidential campaign advisors.

The post-election event will feature keynote conversations and panel discussions on how to expand current broadband efforts in communities nationwide and key policy goals and needs for the next Administration. It will also include demonstrations of innovative civic applications enabled through gigabit technology.

Invited and confirmed speakers include: Senator Angus King (I-ME), Senator John Boozman (R-AR), Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Special Assistant to the President R. David Edelman, Counselor to the FCC Chairman Gigi Sohn, Mayor Dana Kirkham (Ammon, ID), Mayor Andy Berke (Chattanooga, TN), Superintendent Dallas Dance (Baltimore County Schools), Harvard Law Professor Susan Crawford, Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institute Blair Levin, Assistant Secretary, U.S. Department of Commerce Larry Strickling, and other national and local broadband champions.
