The Transformative Nurse Training Program (TNT) is grounded in holistic nursing philosophy, principles, and theory and provides an introduction to a variety of healing and belief systems. Participants learn techniques for relaxation, pain management, and stress reduction to use for self-care, and the care of their patients. Teaching methods include lecture, interactive discussions and experiential practice sessions. A manual containing written materials is provided on the first day.
Participants are expected to
- commit to attending all 4 days as course content builds on previous sessions
- integrate the skills and knowledge gained in this training into personal life and professional practice
- act as a resource person for others interested in holistic nursing
- informally share skills and knowledge with co-workers
- actively engage to bring integrative therapies to your patients
The training consists of 4 eight hour days (32 hours).
Each class day runs from 8am – 4:30pm.

This continuing nursing education activity was approved by the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
This program is approved for 29.5 contact hours for nurses through February 2, 2018.

All 4 classes will be held at the Phillips Eye Institute (2215 Park Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55404) in the Heilicher Auditorium (on the main floor across from the little café). The Phillips Eye Institute is right down the street from Abbott.
