Event description

Description

In 2016 the state passed AB 2722, creating the Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program. For this year, TCC is investing $140 million in three communities that have been most impacted by environmental and socioeconomic hazards. The funds go towards implementing neighborhood-level plans to improve climate and environmental conditions. It also has a goal to provide multiple benefits to disadvantaged communities.

In addition to the $140 million in 3 communities, TCC is also investing an additional $1.5 million to help up to 10 communities access funding in future years. Stockton is in a good place to be a future community due to our high ranking on CalEnviroScreen. Below is a map showing, in dark orange and red, areas of Stockton that rank in the top 25% of the state in CalEnviroScreen. If you are a community member living within those areas or are an individual that cares about improving conditions in that region, then we would like to invite you to our meeting to learn more about this program, brainstorm ideas of investments you want to see in your community that both improve the environment and also provide other benefits (health, social, workforce development, energy efficiency, etc.)
