Event description

Description

Transformational Connections is a huge supporter of Mesoamerican Permaculture Institute (IMAP) which is a non-profit organization located in San Lucas Toliman, Guatemala. IMAP's mission is to develop the practical skills and awareness needed to ensure food sovereignty, community development and the preservation of biodiversity and ancestral knowledge.

Transformational Connections works closely with IMAP to support their mission. While in country, Transformational Connections works with IMAP to learn about food soverignty and help build community gardens in the area.

Rony Lec, is the cofounder of IMAP and he is here at WMU for a 3 day lecture series called "Permaculture from MesoAmerica to Kalamazoo." The goal of this fundraiser is to support IMAP and raise funding and awareness in Kalamazoo about the wonderful work IMAP is doing in Guatemala. Come enjoy dinner and learn more about these two non-profits and the work they are doing.

Here is IMAP's website if you are interested in learning more about their work: http://imapermaculture.org/
