Event description

Description

Transformational Chairwork is centered on the belief that there is a healing and transformative power in: (1) Giving voice to one’s inner parts, modes, and selves; and (2) Enacting or re-enacting scenes from the Past, the Present, or the Future

The Transformational Chairwork Training is designed to introduce therapists to the practice of Chairwork, in an active, creative, and clinically-useful manner using clinical story-telling, role-plays, and live demonstrations.

In this Three Day Intensive, we will explore the use of Chairwork to address such issues as:

Decision-Making, Grief and Loss, Difficult Relationships, Self-Hatred, Painful Experiences, Complex Emotions, and the Development of Self-Compassion.

We will also explore the use of (1) Voice Dialogue as a way to work with inner parts or modes and (2) Imagery Rescripting (or internal Chairwork) as a way of working-through difficult memories.

Participants will also be introduced to The Four Dialogue Matrix and a module will be presented on using Chairwork strategies within the practice of Schema Therapy.

This training will be led by Scott Kellogg, PhD and co-led by Amanda Garcia Torres, LMHC.

The course will go from 10:00 to 6:00 on Friday and Saturday and 10:00 to 4:00 on Sunday.

There are two payment options:

Option One: Full Fee: $325.

Option Two: Community Donation – I encourage participants to pay what they think is fair and appropriate.

For more information about Chairwork, please go to Transformational Chairwork.

Important Information:

These workshops involve working with personal material and/or the experiences that one has had in working with patients and clients in their clinical practice. To promote safety, we will ask all participants to abide by clinical confidentiality. Nonetheless, these workshops can be a profound and quite emotional experience at times. Each participant is responsible for their own mental and emotional health and they are encouraged to pause and/or take whatever steps are necessary to process the material that comes up in the role-plays and demonstrations.

Please Note: The Transformational Chairwork trainings are open to Mental Health, Addiction Treatment, and Harm Reduction Professionals, Students, and Trainees. All others must obtain specific permission from Dr. Kellogg (kelloggchairwork@gmail.com) to attend. Thank you.
