About TransEDU

Since July 2016, Dr Stephanie Mckendry and Dr Matson Lawrence at the University of Strathclyde have been conducting research on the experiences of trans and gender diverse people in colleges and universities. The initial research project - TransEdu Scotland - examined the experiences of, and current provision for, trans and gender diverse applicants, students and staff in colleges and universities across Scotland. The research and initial resource development was funded by the Scottish Funding Council.

More recently, we have been developing open-access resources, guidance and training materials for the sector - and have developed the TransEDU website (www.trans.ac.uk) to provide a central resource for information on supporting trans applicants, students and staff in HE and FE. The development of further resources and leadership models for the wider TransEDU project is funded by the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education.
