Event description
A full day introductory training about working with trans and gender diverse young people presented by Zoe Belle Gender Collective.

About this Event

This is an introductory session, open to people who may have minimal experience with working with young TGD people or may want to refresh their knowledge on how to provide respectful and inclusive services.

The training will provide a comprehensive understanding of the identities and experiences of trans and gender diverse young people, including language and terminology.

Participants will gain knowledge and insight into how to address barriers and concerns for TGD people accessing health and human services. Learn about the protective factors that support young TGD people to build resilience, and pick up practical strategies to create safety and address discrimination.

Topics covered in this in-depth training session include the impacts of discrimination, respectful communication, gender affirmation and healthcare pathways, legal rights and responsibilities, and broad inclusive practice principals and initiatives.
