Description

The mission of the Conflict Resolution Center is to provide the community with innovative, affordable, and cooperative ways to resolve differences and transform relationships. One way of upholding this mission is to offer the following 2 hour training classes to the community. The cost is $25 for the general public. These classes may be used for mediator recertification). The class training instructor is Kim Kristensen.

  • June 22, 2017 - Become a Better Listener. This training teaches techniques for listening as a means to connect and understand your co-workers, employees, and family and friends.
  • July 27, 2017 - Assertive Communication. Develop a sure-fire technique to articulate your wants and needs in a respectful and clear manner instead of simply giving in or being perceived as aggressive.
  • August 24, 2017 - Dealing with Difficult People. This training will give you additional communication and coping skills to deal with those difficult customers, employees, family members, and neighbors, by allowing you to remain calm, diffuse anger, and deal with strong personalities.
  • September 28, 2017 - This is Your Brain on Conflict. How to deal with emotionally upset people. This training uses some basic principles of neuropsychology to present a model for understanding the behaviors of people who are emotionally upset.
  • October 26, 2017 - Managing Conflict, Teams and Agreements. Learn how to identify and change the unspoken agreements in interpersonal relationships that are creating behaviors and patterns which negatively affect your life at home or at the office.
  • November 30, 2017 - Introduction to Conflict Coaching. A one-on-one, forward looking, supportive process intended to help the client be more effective in handling conflict in their lives. This introductory workshop will provide an overview of conflict coaching and present information about the differences between coaching and the fields of counseling, mediation, mentoring, and supervision.
