The Professional Dispatching and Scheduling (PDS) training program focuses on operational efficiency as well as customer service techniques. Those who successfully complete this course will have developed their expertise in maximizing the efficient delivery of demand-responsive transportation, conveying riders' requests into affordable and appropriate trips, and in making effective use of their system's transportation resources.

The Professional Dispatching and Scheduling training session will cover the following topics:

  • Relationship Among Reservationists, Schedulers and Dispatchers
  • Customer Driven Service
  • The Reservationist
  • The Scheduler
  • The Dispatcher
  • Dispatch Emergency Policies and Protocols

About the instructor:

Chris Zeilinger is Assistant Director at the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA), where he has worked since 1988. His areas of activity at CTAA encompass an array of technical assistance, training and professional development, transit technology, and helping guide the association’s policy agenda around topics of public transportation planning, programming and community participation.
