Training: Performing a cost benefit analysis
Wed, May 24, 2017, 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM BST
Performing a cost benefit analysis
Performing a cost benefit analysis (CBA) enables you to estimate the monetary contribution your programme makes to society.
This advanced methodology equips you to make statements such as:
“For every pound invested in our programme, we make x contribution to society.”
This argument is particularly persuasive to large government funding bodies, corporate investors, and social finance providers and could help boost your future fundraising.
This workshop will begin with an overview of how cost benefit analysis is performed followed by a how to guide for you to conduct your own cost benefit analysis`, including advice on data collection and access to a host of vital resources.
By the end of this session you will:
- Have begun a step-by-step plan for performing CBA
- Know what data you need to perform cost benefit analysis
- Understand a range of economic evaluation methodologies
- Understand what high quality cost benefit analysis looks like
- Know about other sources of information and support to perform CBA and economic evaluation
Who will benefit most?
This session is aimed at organisations who would like to learn how to make statements about the return on investment that their programme provides.
The session will not assume that you have any prior knowledge of performing evaluation. However, organisations with an existing Theory of Change and evaluation plan will benefit most from the session.
This training will also benefit you if you are considering submitting for Validation at Standards 3, 4 and 5 on the Project Oracle Standards of Evidence.
Wednesday 24th May – 1.00pm-4.30pm
Our training is highly subsidised by our funders, to make it accessible to as many organisations as possible however, we do request a small contribution from organisations toward the total cost of each training place.
