Session #1 (8:30 - 10:00)

Volunteer Speaker:

Gary Selman: National Radio Guest/ Author / Proven Entrepreneur / Executive Coach https://www.linkedin.com/in/garylselman

Title: Overcoming Fear and Anxiety DURING YOUR JOB SEARCH / Holiday Job Searching

Abstract: Your job search is not over for the year because it is December, join us to hear why. Job search and career transition is a time where you could easily be led by your emotions. Many people experience severe mood swings and feel as if they are riding an "emotional rollercoaster" during this time. It does not have to be that way. In fact, emotional disruption or discord is the number one danger zone; we must learn to manage and control our emotions instead of being managed and controlled by them. Common negative thinking includes “This is a tough economic time and no one is hiring”, “You haven’t had to look for a job in 20 years so it is going to be very difficult if not impossible for you to get anyone interested in hiring you”, “I don’t know how to negotiate”, “You are too old, companies are looking for much younger candidates”. Join us to learn how to overcome these negative emotions and thoughts.

Session #2 (10:30 - 11:30)

Volunteer Speaker:

Alberto Alvino, Ph.D.: Director - Riser System Specialist https://www.linkedin.com/in/albertoalvino

Title: Deep Water Risers

Abstract: A “Deep Water Riser” is a pipe that connects the surface facility to a subsea system in a water depth of 1,000ft or deeper. At this deep, the riser is submitted to extreme condition of pressure, temperature, corrosion, current, wave effect, etc.

This presentation will review the characteristic of main riser types installed for the deep water condition, and, the influence, in the riser design, of main technical selection factors. The main design criteria used in the riser design are summarized. The last part of the presentation will show some dynamic simulations, which are included in the Orcaflex program.

Session #3 (12:00 - 12:30)

Volunteer Speaker: Brad McPhee - Profit Focus Production Engineer https://www.linkedin.com/in/bradmcphee

Title: Marketing YOU with Viral LinkedIn Posts

Abstract: I finally figured out how to get many eyeballs on my LinkedIn page. In the last 5 days, I had more views on my personal page than the last 85 days combined and over 10,000 views of my post! How can you market yourself? Compelling posts with great pictures, quality stories, and especially an emotionally tugging story only you can tell. There are a few other key components you will learn in person and I will also share some very cool analytics. I hope to see you there so you can hear the insights that have helped my latest post go a bit viral hitting over 5,000 views in the last 24 hours alone.
