Event description

Description

You’ve heard of the Ozone right? How bout the Alpine Zone? Well, either way, come experience Trail Yoga combined with a hike in the backcountry of New Hampshire. We'll climb 2.7 miles on the Old Bridle Path to stay overnight at The Greenleaf AMC (Appalachian Mountain Club) hut. This hike is considered an intermediate hike due to elevation gain and terrain. Prior hiking experience is recommended and hiking shoes/boots are required. The terrain of Old Bridle Path will vary and will keep your interest and attention. We'll stop along the way to strike some poses, snap photos and admire the stunning views of Canon Mountain, Fraconia Ridge and Franconia Notch State Park. We'll arrive at Greenleaf hut to unpack and unwind. There is a common area to chill, read and play games or you can venture outside on their porch or walk around the lush area. Greenleaf hut sits above treeline at 4200’ offering some of the best views of New Hampshire. Mount Lafayette is an additional 1.1 mile hike to the summit which may be a possibility.

Greenleaf hut was built in 1930 with recent improvements. This rustic but homey hut sleeps 48 with a crew of 5 to cook a delicious dinner and breakfast family style. Wait till you meet the crew or as they say “the croo.” If you have never been to an AMC hut or even if you have, you are in for a real treat. Taken from the AMC website “It's a classic White Mountain experience.”

Greenleaf Hut offers co-ed bunkrooms and separate washrooms with toilets. Bunkhouses are not heated and have no lighting. Electrical outlets are not available. You must have a headlamp with extra batteries. Our stay will be a magical experience.

Dinner and breakfast are included with your stay. Dinner is served family-style at 6:00 PM sharp and includes fresh bread, soup, salad, a hearty entrée, and dessert. With advance notice, we can accommodate dietary preferences including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free diets. Breakfast is served family-style at 7:00 AM sharp and includes eggs with pancakes or a baked good, plus hot cereal, fruit and breakfast meat, like bacon or sausage, with coffee, cocoa or tea. Lunch: bring your own; otherwise soup and baked goods are available during the day.

Please notify me if you have food allergies or any other dietary needs. Please Carry In/Carry Out all personal trash and recyclables.
