Event description

Description

Join the movement on National Trails Day! Come prep a popular trail for the hiking season.

In the morning, Hope Rogers, the AMC New York-North Jersey Chapter's Trails Committee Chair, will guide our efforts to clear the corridor on a short, well-loved section of the Suffern Bear Mountain Trail between Corman AMC Harriman Outdoor Center and Big Hill Shelter. Afterwards, we'll all jump in the lake for a refreshing swim or grab a canoe/kayak for a fun paddle! For those who choose to stay, we'll share a Social Hour with participants of other Chapter Events at Corman Harriman Outdoor Center this weekend.

We will supply all the training and tools. Bring work gloves if you have them. Wear long sleeves, long pants and a hat. Bring water, bug spray, lunch, and your good humor!

This event is led by the chapter's Harriman Program Committee and the Trails Committee Volunteer Leaders. Paddling and yoga equipment is made available free of charge courtesy of the New York-North Jersey Chapter. The camp is accessible by public transportation.

Registration: Registration is mandatory. Spaces are limited to 8 participants.

Cost: FREE
Event includes volunteer leadership, access to the Corman AMC Harriman Outdoor Center, and Social Hour nibbles. BYO lunch and adult beverages.

Cancellation Policy

Please cancel online in advance so your space can be made available for other participants.
