Event description

Description

A Roundtable on Health and Safety of Women in Construction

Join us for a facilitated discussion of ways to increase women’s health and safety in the skilled trades. The Policy Forum will offer a stage for industry leaders, OSHA and tradeswomen to talk together to find collective solutions and strategies for ensuring that tradeswomen’s distinct health and safety needs and challenges are addressed. The focus of the discussion will be on why gender matters in health and safety issues in the construction industry.

> How health and safety issues are impacted by gender.

> How issues that are specific to gender can be safety concerns.

> What individuals can do to protect themselves and their co-workers.

> How unions, apprenticeship programs and contractors can promote equitable health and safety practices and policies in the workplace.

> How tradeswomen and industry leaders can jointly advocate for an equitable and safe workplace with public agencies

The Tradeswomen Policy Forum is designed to engage tradeswomen, industry leaders and allies to discuss ways to increase women’s participation and retention in the skilled trades and find collective strategies to help tradeswomen thrive in a male-dominated industry.
