Description

Running from 06-13 September 2017, Tracing Your Irish Ancestors will offer a brand new programme which will appeal to both the dedicated family historian and those who may wish to spend more time taking in the spectacular scenery and historical sites.

For those of you wishing to enjoy the enchanting landscape and historic sites of their ancestors we have also devised new tours this year which will include a guided tour of Newgrange (visit confirmed) passage tomb at Bru na Boinne; a tour of Co. Down including; Down Cathedral, said to be the burial place of St Patrick; the 12th Century Cistercian Abbey, Inch Abbey and Saul Church, the reputed spot of St Patrick's first sermon and church in Ireland; a Tour of Armagh, the Ecclesiastical Capital of Ireland including: St Patrick's Cathedral; Armagh Public Library; and the Cardinal Tomas O Fiaich memorial library and Archive; a visit to Ireland's only accessible rope-bridge at Carrick-a-rede; a visit to Barons Court, the finest private home in Ireland; as well as the Hill of the O’Neills – the ancient capital of Ulster!

Our conference is the perfect combination of work and pleasure, offering an engaging and entertaining mix of research in the archives with the help of the Foundation’s experienced genealogists, talks from acknowledged experts and a variety of tours, all of which make for a memorable experience.

If you are interested in attending our June family history conference we are pleased to announce an early bird registration offer. For those of you who register before 28 February 2017 the cost to participate in our Conference is just £799.99 (GBP) ($980 approx.). After this date the cost will be £849.99(GBP). Places can fill up fast so reserve your place now, with a deposit of only £199.99 (GBP) per person!

Given the current low value of sterling (GBP) against other currencies now is a particularly good time for overseas visitors to purchase. The present exchange rate values will ensure overseas delegates can make a very tidy saving on the cost.
