Event Details

TrACEES welcomes you to its 2017 annual event. The symposium will be opened by Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Liz Sonenberg who will give an overview about the University’s collaborative research infrastructure program. This will be followed by an address by Professor Spas Kolev, Chair of the Platform’s Steering Committee. The symposium will have two research sessions covering a range of topics in art conservation, infrastructure engineering, mineralogy, biological, soil and environmental sciences, given by researchers who have used TrACEES’ facilities in their investigations.

  • Dr Bill Birch (Museum Victoria, Phosphate mineral assemblages)
  • Dr Graham Brodie (FVAS, Microwave pyrolysis)
  • Associate Professor Philip Chalk (Soil science, Isotope ratio mass spectrometry for 15N)
  • Ms Henrietta Farr (Geology, Microscsale in situ analysis)
  • Dr Ben Fest (Bioscience, Blue carbon research)
  • Dr Ali Kashani (Infrastructure Engineering, microCT scanning of foam concrete)
  • Dr Caroline Kyi (GCCMC, Art conservation)

All staff and research students are welcome! 

Soil node has just been relocated back to its newly renovated lab in Microbiology Building 184. A tour will be organised after the event, all welcome too!
