Every year, 700-900 women die of pregnancy related causes in the U.S., one of the worst maternal mortality rates among developed countries. Black women are 3 to 4 times more likely to die of pregnancy related causes than non-Hispanic white women regardless of education and socioeconomic status. Join us for a discussion on national and state legislative efforts to combat maternal mortality.

Special guests include the Honorable Robin Kelly, U.S. Representative from Illinois' 2nd Congressional District; Director of Marion County Health Department, Dr. Virginia Caine; and 106.7 WTLC Radio Personality, Karen Vaughn, who will serve as the townhall's moderator.

Event and parking is FREE! Registration is required.
