Event description

Description

Spend an evening in Crawford Park hearing local musical talent! We'll start the evening with an open mic: show off your skills by playing up to two songs in front of your best friends! All genres welcome: folk, acoustic, country, rock, alternative, celtic, bluegrass, opera, a capella, jazz, R&B. Anybody can play, but we'll reserve 4 spots for Town of Rye residents.

Closing out the night will be singer-songwriter and Rye Brook resident Julie Corbalis. Julie has been performing all over the world since 1996 and has recorded six albums, including her latest, “What’s Up with This Heart.” Her musical influences are as diverse as her musical catalog and include the Beatles, Sheryl Crow, and a sub-genre to what she whimsically refers as “White Boy Blues” including the likes of Eric Clapton, The Animals, and the Rolling Stones. Corbalis enjoys steady exposure in local media radio outlets, including WFUV 90.7, WHUD 100.7 and The Peak 107.1, and her cover of The Faces “Ooh La La” was featured on the hit TV show “Bones” in June 2016.

Tickets for this show are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. This benefit show is presented by Friends of Crawford Park and all proceeds go toward beautification of Crawford Park. Refreshments are available at the show, including beer and wine. Doors open at 6:30pm, open mic sign up is at 7:00pm, and show starts at 7:30pm.
