Description

Individuals and organizations invested in eradicating gun violence will gather for a Town Hall on Sat., Oct. 13, 6 p.m., Congregation Etz Chaim, 1710 S. Highland Ave., Lombard.

This conversation includes Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting survivors Lauren Hogg and Ryan Servaites, both March For Our Lives student activists. Brandon Farbstein -- a member of March for Our Lives and revolutionary empowerment speaker for young people -- will also participate.

Two panels will include Deb Conroy, IL State Rep 46th District; Sean Casten, candidate for IL 6th Congressional District; Terra Costa Howard, candidate for IL State Rep 48th District; March for Our Lives activists; and Chicago-area youth who daily deal with gun violence. State Senator Chris Nybo (IL24), Congressman Peter Roskam (IL06) and State Rep Deanne Mazzochi (IL47) have been invited but have yet to confirm.

Resolutions made at the conclusion of the Oct. 13 Town Hall will set the foundation for common sense reforms. All attendees are encouraged to register to vote-- self-registration with be available.

Admission is free, and students will have priority entrance.

This town hall is officially registered with the Town Hall Project.
