Description

The Boulder County PACE program invites you on a tour of the City of Boulder's Wastewater Treatment Facility!

The city's wastewater treatment plant is designed to treat more than 25 million gallons of wastewater per day in a 20-hour, multi-stage treatment process. The facility essentially recycles used water and returns it to nature by discharging treated waste water back into Boulder Creek. Tour attendees will also learn about the ways that the facility is powered, including a one megawatt solar PV system and cogeneration from gas biproducts for heat and electricity.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions they have about the water they use, where it goes after it disappears down the drain, and how it's treated before being returned back to our natural water ways.
