Chef Amy Fothergill has been in the kitchen whipping up creations and writing recipes since she was a young girl. After attending the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, she knew food and cooking was in her blood for life. She's worked in many different kitchens, both big and small, with an emphasis on quality and customer service. During a hiatus from the culinary world, she spent seven years working for a software company as their instructor, curriculum developer and sales consultant.
Since the time she became The Family Chef, she has also been faced with the challenge of managing a special diet for her children (and even herself) who have food allergies. Never wanting them to feel deprived, Chef Amy became an expert in creating gluten-free dishes, as well as understanding how to make substitutions for dairy and eggs.
Chef Amy teaches cooking classes, provides consultations and presentations, writes this cooking blog and gluten-free column and is an author of a soon-to-be published gluten-free cookbook
