Event description

Description

This tour is open to representatives of organizations that plan to respond to the Request for Interest (RFI) for the historic Southwest Museum site and Casa de Adobe. Advance reservations are required.

Join us for a tour of the Resources Center of the Autry, a 100,000-square-foot collections care, research, and education facility. Scheduled to open next year, this state-of-the-art facility has the technology and equipment essential to properly care for, protect, and preserve the Autry’s important cultural assets, including more than 600,000 artifacts and library materials, among them those from the Southwest Museum of the American Indian and Braun Research Library Collections.

Participants will tour the reading room, ceremonial garden, conservation labs, collection storage, and research areas. Autry staff will show examples of objects from the collections and archives. The tour will be led by the following Autry staff members:

  • Maren Dougherty, EVP, Communications and Visitor Experience
  • LaLena H. Lewark, VP, Collections and Conservation

Large purses, bags, food, and drinks are not permitted on the tour. We recommend wearing sneakers or other comfortable shoes because the tour requires a great deal of walking on concrete floors.

Parking: The parking lot gate will open 20 minutes before the tour. Parking is free in the lot. Street parking is also available.

Space is limited. Please let us know if you register and are no longer available to attend.
