Event description
Two colleagues discuss the history of spiritualism and modern art in Massachusetts

About this Event

Transcendental Modernism highlights the work of artists active in Massachusetts from the 1940s to 1990s who extended the legacies of nineteenth-century utopian and spiritual philosophies through their commitment to alternative pedagogies, social reform, secular faiths, and communion with nature. This tour of the exhibition will be co-facilitated by Sam Adams, Koch Curatorial Fellow at deCordova, and Martina Tanga, Curatorial Research and Interpretation Associate at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Doors to the museum will open approximately fifteen minutes prior to the tour. Please note: a portion of the exhibition is not wheel-chair accessible.
