About this event
Come Join us for an enchanting and informative guided tour of the historic, all-Black town of Taft Oklahoma, and learn how you can get involved with preserving, protecting, and maintaining the historic community powered by the film industry. Visitors will also learn about the historic significance Black Towns played in the building of Black Wall Street and highlight some amazing historical figures many have never heard of.
Oklahoma was once home to over fifty all Black towns and settlements where Black communities were able to flourish and establish incredible wealth. Today, only around 7 of these towns remain and most lack sufficient resources to maintain and thrive as they once did. Many fear one day they will all be gone. But with the rise of the film industry in Oklahoma, we Have the opportunity to help change that narrative.
We will provide a complimentary shuttle from Tulsa to Taft and back, seats are limited and filling fast! If you can provide your own transportation to and from Taft we would love to have you as while.
Tour Schedule:
11:00 am - bus leaves from The Zone (In Tulsa) to Taft
12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Tour of Taft
2:15 pm - Leave Taft back to Tulsa

The event is hosted by The Bromont Program, a non-profit providing system-impacted and disadvantaged communities with opportunities to transform their lives through storytelling and film. We are working to connect the necessary pathways to these opportunities here in Oklahoma!
