Description

All the controversy about what we remember, why we remember, and who decides - has brought the subject of public statuary and sculpture back into high relief. Hartford has an abundance of public sculpture. Join Bill Hosley for a 2-hour Veterans Day walking tour that originates at Wadsworth Atheneum's Nathan Hale Statue - looks Calder's Stegasaurus and Carl Andre's Stone Fields, and then visits Horace Wells, Gen. Israel Putnam, the Soldiers & Sailors Arch, Rev War hero Capt Thomas Knowlton & State Capitol before doubling back to see Evelyn Longman's Spanish-American War monument and the "Charter Oak Jr" in Bushnell Park.
