About this Event
The Green River Plantation is one of Western North Carolina's wonders. When construction began on the main house in 1804, much of the surrounding area was still considered wild and frontier. But, over the years, the plantation house and property lands became a staple of the area and history was continually made on the grounds. More than 10,000 square feet and 44 rooms filled with histroical trinkets await visitors to the plantation.
Today, the plantation is privately owned. The owners, however, allow the rare glimpse into life of early America from the colonial times through the Civil War and onto the present day by providing visitors an in-depth look at the plantation's history via guided tours.
Join us for a detailed tour of the plantation grounds and the big house, featuring relics and stories from America's earliest days to the present.
This event is perfect for social groups, church groups, lovers of history and anyone interested in learning more about how early American history.
