Event description

Description

The Mortons, an African-American family that worked on the Grassmere Farm from 1919-1973, made important contributions to the success of the farm. The Nashville Zoo is currently engaged in efforts to preserve and share the history of the Morton family contributions, including Frank Morton and his son Albert Morton.

Join us on May 18th for an on-site tour of the site and learn more about the Morton family exhibit currently in the planning and details about the creation of the interpretive text for display for site visitors. Tori Mason, Historic Site Manager at the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere will be our tour guide as we learn more about this important history.

Due to space limitations, the tour is limited to 15 individuals; reservations are required. Please RSVP via this announcement. We will meet at the front entrance of the Zoo. There is no cost to attend the tour, but if you would like to visit the Zoo, you will need to purchase your own separate admission.
