Event description

Description

With your team of two to four people, run, bike, forge streams and use a map to navigate your way from point to point during this two-hour orienteering race. This year we will be headed to Camp Mosey Wood for more adventure. Travel new terrain between checkpoints and seek out adventure challenges to gain more points. This year choose your challenge by entering into a two-hour or four - hour race!

You may get wet or muddy, but you’re guaranteed to have fun. Grab your parents and siblings, too, this race is for the whole family! Teams maximum is four people, but teams can work together. An adult must be registered and participate with the team when the team members are 12 and under. All participants will receive an event patch, awards will be given to top finishers, must register before September 18th for a race t-shirt.

Afterward, spend the day at camp from 1 - 4p.m. for a Camp Fun Day! Boating, hiking, archery, gaga and lawn games will be available to everyone. 6th grade and up, try out the adventure climbing tower and zip-line! Enjoy a picnic lunch (self-provided), while enjoying the day together.

Does an individual need to train for this race?

At Girl Scouts, we encourage girls to be active outdoors and believe in providing them the opportunity to develop the kind of outdoors skills it is hard to get anywhere else. We believe that anyone with a base level of fitness can complete a two-hour adventure race.

The four - hour race is designed for teams with more experience. If you have participated in an adventure race before or are familiar with orienteering and looking for a challenge the four- hour race is for you. If this is your first time, we recommend the two- hour race.

Teams that wish to be competitive may elect to train on bike and foot, and physical strength is not a barrier to entry for this event.
