How do I get there?

Salford Lads Club is on Coronation Street, M5 3SA.
It is open from 11am on Saturdays.
It is located close to Manchester City Centre-  catch the 33 Bus from Piccadilly, tram to Salford Quays stop, or train to Salford Crescent Train Station.

Question 2

Can I bring my shoes to show?

Accepted Answer

YES
Please do bring your shoe wardrobe to show other barefoot shoe enthusiasts.  You can set up in the main gym any time from 11am.  Bring a sheet to display your shoes on.  Feel free to offer shoes for sale or trade or buy from others.  (At your own discretion and private sale terms)

Will there be refreshments available?

Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be available from the Lads Club kitchen.  Feel free to bring your own snacks.

Question 4

Can I park?

Accepted Answer

Free parking is available at LoknStore on Regent Road (from 9am until 4pm, when the gates will be locked).  Just call in at reception and leave your name and registration.  You can also park for free at the Red Rose Retail Park (Rexel/ Toolstation/ Topps Tiles) also on Regent Road, M5 3GR, until 8pm

Are shoes for sale?

Happy Little Soles will bring a selection of barefoot shoes to try on and will have shoes for sale.  Help us stock the brands and sizes you're interested in by letting us know your preferences on here and on the Facebook Event page.  You can also sell your own shoes if you wish.

Is the event for children?

Yes, there will be shoes for both adults and children.  The club has baby changing facilities.  Help us provide the most suitable shoe options by letting us know your approximate shoe size(s).

What is on offer?

As well as receiving a FREE foot measurer, Happy Little Soles' expert staff will be on hand offering measuring and brands advice. You will be able to try on shoes that are usually only available by mail order.  Participants will also be bringing their own shoe wardrobes and sharing their experience

What's accessibility like at the club?

We have wheelchair access and ramp at the back of the club (on Huddart Close).  There is a lift up to the first floor (where Happy Little Soles will be based - in the concert hall.  There is also a disabled toilet on the ground floor.

Question 9

Is it really FREE?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The event is organised by the Salford Lads Club in collaboration with Happy Little Soles and will be staffed by volunteers.  You can support the club (a charity offering opportunities to local children) by making a donation at one of the donation points or collection buckets, or buy a tshirt!

Question 10

Can we have a look in the Smiths Room?

Yes, you will be able to tour the building, including the world famous Smiths Room, and wonderful archive room.  
Feel free to take photographs.

Is there anything else going on at the club later on?

John Denton, (Salford busker, and winner of the Johnny Marr prize)  and his band, 'The Height' will be launching their first album on the evening of 30th September.  See press for details and tickets.
