Learn More About our Speakers:

Mike Scott

Mike Scott believes that any time invested in training must provide information that has immediate and applicable take-home value. Leverage of “information-to-application” is what he stresses.

Mike uses his in-depth knowledge of training, employee development, and business to help professionals quickly and fully absorb and utilize the information he teaches.

His experience includes professional executive recruiting, Manager of Recruiting and Training for Reed Tool Company in Houston, and Human Resources Manager for the Energy Banking group of RepublicBank, now Bank of America. Mike started his own training and development company in July of 1984 and regularly speaks, designs and conducts training programs for both large and small companies, like McDonalds Corporation, Ernst & Young, AAA and many others. His unique and interesting style and immediate payoff results in additional work with his client companies.

Paul Weaver

Paul has spent the past 40 years in a variety of leadership roles. Over the past 34 years, he has led his family business, Weaver Leather, from three employees to over 300. Twenty-five years ago, he adopted a character-based program, and it has been essential to the growth and success of the company.

“Without character, we will never reach our full potential. And that’s why I am so passionate about it.”

Motivated by the impact the program had on his employees, Paul expanded the character program to include character building, culture, leadership, and faith. The 48 principles of Lodestar Guidance are a compilation of the characteristics Paul desires organizations to adopt for creating cultures where individuals grow and thrive where they are planted.

Paul and Gladys, his wife of 43 years, live near Millersburg, Ohio and have a son, Eugene, a daughter, Jennifer, and four grandsons. Paul enjoys hunting, shooting sports, hiking, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Scott Bell

Scott graduated from The University of San Francisco with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior and Development. He appreciates having had the opportunity to travel in more than 18 countries including South America and the Middle East and feels it has helped him be more adaptable and creative in communicating with people and creating and maintaining both personal and professional relationships.

With more than 30 years of direct and indirect sales experience at a national or regional level, Scott has managed individuals and independent sales teams as well as prospected and maintained national and regional accounts.

Following eight years in church ministry as Small Groups Director and Missions Director, Scott is currently the founder and Director of the non-profit community outreach ministry The Compass Center. He and his ministry partners Carrie Conrad and Rich VanArsdalen, work closely with the unemployed, incarcerated, formerly incarcerated and homeless, teaching job sustainability skills and character development.
