This course covers issues involved in determining whether the law should require a person to compensate victims for harms intentionally or unintentionally caused. This course also explores various resolutions in terms of their social, economic, and political implications. Finally, this course serves as a good introduction to the American civil litigation system, including the distinct roles played by judges and juries.
