Session 2 - Children aged 7-14
Saturdays, 9:00-10:30 am
The ToonSeum, 945 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh PA 15222
A 4 week introduction to comics for kids. Exciting drawing and sequencing activities will lead kids to create original characters and stories, while increasing their drawing, and visual literacy skills. Students will be able to take home a completed comics project each class, or work on a longer story over the course of 4 weeks. - Taught by Sally Ingraham

About the instructor: Sally Ingraham is a cartoonist, educator, and journalist based in Pittsburgh, PA. She draws comics about Pittsburgh and bird watching, and makes a daily comic strip called "Suzy and Cecil" (with Gabriella Tito). She facilitates the Comics Workbook Rowhouse Residency, and is the managing editor of the Comics Workbook Daily News website. She teaches comics classes at schools, libraries, and community centers around Pittsburgh, and maintains a private comics teaching practice as well. She is focused on documenting the current and historic place of women in the comics industry, and developing new talent and interest in the medium.
