Tools for Teachers and Administrators: Implementing Common Core Standards
The College of Education & Integrative Studies Education Alumni Group is hosting a dynamic workshop with K-12 leaders who have implemented Common Core strategies in their school districts. As Common Core replaces the old state standards, we want to help you with the transition into the future of education. This will impact the future of the university because students will come to campus expecting to be taught in a Common Core style. We will break into discussions at the elementary, middle, and high school levels to address concerns and challenges faced in implementing the CCSS. In addition, teams will present technology tools in education, ways to engage community members in the classroom, and a special session for K-12 administrators. This free event will be held on Oct. 29 in the Bronco Student Center, Ursa Major AB, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. It is open to education students, faculty, alumni and community members.
