The Tools for Awesome Living Workshop is about exactly that: how to develop skills and learn tools that allow us to live an awesome life. The tools are designed to allow us to move through pain without suffering, to connect with another person without freaking out, and to get to know ourselves really well and love who we are.
Most of us wish we were better at life. We learned all kinds of neat stuff in school, like algebra; and cool things at home, like how to tie our shoes. But our current job doesn’t require any math skills and most of our shoes don’t need tying anyway… What we really wish we could do is feel better about ourselves and our lives.
That requires a whole different set of tools that most of us are not lucky enough to get as a child. How to manage our emotional lives, how to identify and express our feelings, how to be honest and create the life that we want instead of the one we think we should have – these are actually useful skills. Getting clear on who we are and what we want and even more importantly, taking the action to live as we ought. These tools allow us to do the only thing that really matters: live fully.
There are innumerable tools and tips out there to live better, feel happier, and overall chill out. It’s possible. It’s not just your duty, it’s your right.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS
Tools for Awesome Living is facilitated by a brother and sister team. Carlos and Maritza Schafer were born and raised in Chile. Maritza moved to the USA when she was 18 years old, and Carlos moved to Australia when he was 26. As fate would have it, now Carlos lives in Melbourne and Maritza lives in Sydney and their experience includes workshop facilitation, coaching, counseling, healing, and many alternative therapies.
Carlos Schafer is a registered psychologist with two passions – counselling psychology and executive coaching. To support his passion for counselling, he is trained in experiential psychology, cognitive emotive behavioural therapy, post rationalist therapy, emotional focused therapy, and hypnosis and has a keen interest in alternative healing.Carlos has assisted clients with addictions (drug and alcohol dependent and compulsive behaviours such as gambling), relationship counselling (marriage counselling), depression, stress management and anxiety disorders. His approach is holistic with a strong influence on emotion focused therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy. Although he focuses on the process, he supports his clients to achieve the outcomes that they desire.
Maritza’s grandmother initiated her in the crafty arts of working energy and learning about the healing properties of water, the power of the mind, and the mystery of Life Herself at a very early age. A natural born healer, she has spent the majority of my life studying and – most importantly – practicing the spiritual realm. Maritza is a Priestess who also holds a masters in Communications. She has run global campaigns for social justice issues and enjoys helping her clients using magical tools, powerful intuition and an uncanny ability to find a way to the light. Some of her tools include Family Constellations, Reiki, and Tarot. Maritza has over 20 years of experience in emotional development techniques, spiritual tools, healing, ritual, activism and having a whole lot of fun.
