If you already know what you want to build and you just want to learn how to use the tools you need safely (or if you just want a refresher), Tool Training sessions are for you. Classes are kept small so each student get sa lot of personal attention, and each training session is themed for a certain set of tools - just take the sessions you need to get going.
This training session is called Metalworking Machine Tools. It covers many of the metalworking tools that are supplementary to mills, lathes, and welders, including sheet metal tools, chop saws, hand grinders, cutoff wheels, bandsaws, and spot welders.
Please note that Tool Training classes do not provide significant practice with each tool, nor do they discuss any advanced techniques. To learn how to use the tools at anything other than an introductory level, please take a look at our technique classes.
By the end of the tool training session, students will be comfortable with the operation of sheet metal tools, chop saws, hand grinders, cutoff wheels, bandsaws, and spot welders. After passing a proficiency test the next time they visit Artisan's Asylum, they will be able to use all of the tools indicated in our workspace.
All practice materials provided by Artisan's Asylum.
Sessions will be scheduled on-demand as training instructors and students are available. Please select the week that would be your preference for the training session.
