Tony Trischka
Event Information
Description
Come on out and enjoy the original timeless banjo melodies of Tony Trischka at the Stone House at the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum while enjoying brews from the Alementary Brewing Company.
Mr. Trischka has recorded songs with Pete Seeger, David Grisman, Alison Krauss, Earl Scruggs, members of REM, William S. Burroughs, Natalie Merchant, and Steve Martin.
While some musicians open up whole new realms, in the world of the banjo, the music that marked the change came from Tony Trischka. Up out of bluegrass and country and then all over; to roots in Africa; to heights of jazz. Banjo, unbound. Tony Trischka set it free while also becoming known as the instrument's greatest educator about his instrument and its history.
Embracing all manner of possibilities, Mr. Trischka keeps one foot firmly planted in the traditional bluegrass roots that first inspired him to make music.
We look forward to seeing you there!
