Event Details

Tony-nominated theatre veteran Tony Tanner returns to West Hollywood with his touching and hilarious musical revue Second Thoughts, on four evenings/matinees in July. These productions will be the first use of the "Public Meeting Room" (or City Council Chamber) for a proper theatrical presentation, since the new library's opening in Fall of 2011.

Writer-director-composer-performer Tony Tanner's intimate musical revue, Second Thoughts, features four singer/actors: Angela DeCicco, Lloyd Pedersen, Bobbi Stamm and Tony Tanner, accompanied by musical director David Kole on piano and Vera Budinoff playing violin.

The show was summed up by BackstageWest magazine as: "It is songs and skits that chart the fun involved in being 21 no more...a treasure...a musical revue with a big heart and a lot of style and class...The songs are a delight with pleasant melodies or toe-tapping rhythms, and lyrics that are hilarious, clever, touching, or just plain smart."

LA Weekly said: “The cast of four … displays versatility and verve, with slick and precise piano accompaniment … Most, but not all, of the sketches deal with love and romance, both straight and gay, marital and extramarital. ‘My First Boy’ concerns an older woman’s delight at recruiting a young hustler she’s putting through college, ‘I’m Getting Unmarried in June’ dramatizes the joys of divorce, and Tanner provides himself with some clever patter songs, including ‘The Pumps are by Cardin’ and ‘I Should Have Worn Red.’ The wry and rueful production is well designed to amuse its target audience …”

Performances are Saturdays, July 13 and 20 at 7pm and Sundays, July 14 and 21 at 2pm in the "Public Meeting Room" (or City Council Chamber) at 625 N. San Vicente Blvd. in West Hollywood CA 90069.

Free parking is available in the multi-stsory City parking structure immediately adjacent to the chamber (enter off San Vicente or Robertson Blvd. on El Tovar Place).
