This one day training course led by by Mark Thomas, a Tomcat committer and PMC member with over 10 years of experience in the Tomcat community, is aimed at system administrators who are new to Apache Tomcat. The course will cover:

• Typical installation scenarios
• Web application packaging and deployment
• Logging configuration
• TLS background
• TLS configuration
• Performance and tuning

The course aims to provide system administrators with the skills necessary to set up a Tomcat instance, administer it on a day to day basis and to undertake initial troubleshooting if things go wrong. The course will include a number of hands-on exercises and participants are requested to bring a laptop with them on which they will be installing Tomcat and completing a number of exercises.
