Event Details

For our first event outside of New York City, we're coming to Boston to talk + meet up with some of Boston's finest female leaders in hospitality.

Mentorship is one of our core values in Toklas Society, and something the restaurant community of Boston does very well.

So we'll kick off the afternoon talking about mentorship with Toklas Society role models Jody Adams (Rialto, Trade), Theresa Paopao (Ribelle) and Nancy Cushman (o ya). The talk will be moderated by Toklas Society Co-Founder Sue Chan, followed by meeting and mingling.

About Toklas Society
The women of the Toklas Society work in the front of house and the back of house. We are entrepreneurs, restaurateurs, chefs, event planners, writers, editors, bartenders, assistants, accountants, buyers, distributers and so much more. We all joined the food and hospitality world for different reasons, but together we're helping drive the industry forward.

Our Mission
The Toklas Society is a not-for-profit organization for women in food and hospitality to find inspiration, mentorship, and community. Our mission is to provide opportunities and resources to foster professional development. Toklas Society is also a platform for us to share the stories of successful, driven and passionate women who are making an impact in our industry.

Toklas Society

The Toklas Society is a network of women in the hospitality industry. We work front of the house and back of the house. We work late nights and early mornings. We are restaurateurs, chefs, event planners, writers, bartenders, assistants, general managers, beverage directors, and so much more. We recognize the need for a female community and a shared sense of purpose in our male dominated industry.

At its most basic, the Society is a social network and support group, providing a jobs board and a forum for discussion. However through meet ups, speaker series, workshops, and symposia we hope to create opportunities not just for networking but for inspiration, education, and personal and professional growth. And we hope to have a hell of a lot of fun while doing it.
