Keynote speaker Mark Meaney, J.D., M. A., is Lead Senior Staff Attorney for Technical Assistance at the Tobacco Legal Control Consortium, a program of the Public Health Law Center.

Mr. Meaney will discuss what he has learned leading a team providing technical assistance to communities around the country on tobacco control policy. Mr. Meaney also will share his perspective on the unique role of Tobacco 21 policies in the spectrum of tobacco-use prevention strategies.


Panel Discussions

Panelists from across Kansas communities will participate in panel discussions to provide lessons learned from their experiences regarding Tobacco 21 policies, implementation and enforcement. Some of the panelists participating in the discussion of the day include:

• Ed Ellerbeck, M.D., M.P.H., with the University of Kansas Medical Center
• Lisse Regehr with Thrive Allen County
• Rebecca Garza with Healthy Communities Wyandotte
• Donna Gerstner with Live Well Finney County
• Councilmember Ken Davis of Mission, Kansas
• Scott Hall with Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce
• Tara Nolen with Tobacco Free Wichita Coalition
