FOLLOW THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD TO THE BEAUTIFUL PRESERVE AT BINGHAM HILL!
Please join Homeless Gear on June 9th for their seventh-annual fundraising event, Toast to Transitions, and help raise funds to empower individuals and families who face homelessness to survive, move forward and thrive.
This year's theme is "Follow the Yellow Brick Road". Programming will include:
- Guest speakers, including people who are or were homeless
- A silent auction, featuring local art, items, get-aways and a New Belgium cruiser!
- "We're Not in Kansas (city) Anymore" dinner brought to you by Whole Foods
- Live music by Rosann Winn, Singer-Songwriter
- Desserts brought to you by Food for Thought
- Wizard of Oz cakes to auction designed by Whole Foods
- The chance to win a trip for two to Puerto Rico, thanks to FishforGod.com
- Drinks generously donated by our local breweries
Millions of Americans slip into homelessness each year and nearly 10,000 people are “literally” homeless in Colorado right now. This does not include many of the roughly-1,200 students who experience homelessness in the Thompson and Poudre school districts each year. Additionally, more than half of residents who are low income and many who are homeless but working do not earn enough to afford housing. In fact, a person would need to earn $21.12 per hour to afford a two-bedroom in Colorado according to National Housing Low Income Coalition. This means that a person with a minimum wage job would require more than 90 hours of work per week.
Your support at Toast to Transitions: Follow the Yellow Brick Road will enable us to grow our six programs: Distribution, Children in Need, Street Outreach, Dedicated Navigator, Hand Up and One Village One Family. Additionally, it will support our management role at the Murphy Center, a resource center in Larimer County that hosts 17 independent non-profits.
In 2016, we raised roughly $70,000 at Toast to Transitions, which helped us touch thousands of lives in 2016…including maintaining a 100% housing-retention rate for the 21 families (50 children) who have secured housing via our One Village One Family program. This year, our goals are even more ambitious. But we need your help. Please, join us for an evening of fun and impact on June 9th!
Are you, your business or your organization interested in being a sponsor? This year, we’re offering sponsorships ranging from $500 to $10,000. Our sponsors are recognized in front of a wide audience WHILE making a significant impact on homelessness.
