IEEE Product Safety Presents...
Electromagnetic Interference and its role in Inverter reliability.
This presentation gives a high-level technical view of the problems and concerns on how Electromagnetic interference plays havoc with respect to reliability and safety. Though examples within the presentation are focused on solar inverters, it also applies to other areas of electronic and electrical equipment. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to learn about this forgotten parameter when investigating a product’s reliability, safety & continuing compliance!
Mr. Regan Arndt, Product Safety Engineer, currently at FEI/Thermo Fisher Scientific, Fremont, CA.
Regan was formerly the Sr. Product Compliance Engineer at Empower Micro Systems, a small start-up inverter company located in Santa Clara, CA where he was heavily involved in both Safety and EMC design and testing. He recently presented this presentation at the 2017 NREL/Sandia Labs PV reliability workshop in Denver, Colorado. Regan’s experience dates back to 1994 where he started at Nortel Networks as a Product Safety Engineer. He then went on to work for several certification agencies: TUV Rheinland, TUV SUD and Intertek and has been back in the R&D and manufacturing world since 2014.
