Description

“How to Envision Your Most Successful Exit”

A study commissioned by Gary Rzucidlo and BNY Mellon in conjunction with Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management highlights closely held business owners lack of readiness to transition their business.

Recent studies show as high as 50% of transitions are unplanned due to death, disability, divorce, distress or disagreements leaving behind many succession issues for the family to figure out. The presentation will focus on areas of opportunities and offer tips from experience regardless of transition options one might be considering such family, employees or third party.

Gary Rzucidlo is a Vice President and Certified Exit Planning Advisor for BNY Mellon Private Wealth Management where he is responsible for developing and growing new relationships and advising Business Owners. As a trusted advisor to some of the wealthiest families in the Southeast, Gary invests time and resources with business owners and their families far in advance of a transition.

Over his career, Gary has successfully guided entrepreneurs and families to help them grow and protect their wealth while simplifying their lives as they transition from “Owner” to “Investor”. These transitions follow 3 stages:

  • “What’s my legacy?” Value Creation vs. a Life Style Business

  • “Is it enough?” Effective Tax Planning Strategies

  • “What’s next?” Life After the Sale

Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Gary spent 13 years in senior management positions with The Coca Cola Company and Coca Cola Enterprises where he was in charge of planning and budgeting as well the implementation of strategic business plans. Gary also was a Financial Advisor for Bernstein Global Wealth Management.
