Curious about African Cuisine? This TMC will feature the flavors and cooking techniques of the West African country of Ghana. Asempe Kitchen is new to Columbus and ready to share their unique, delicious and approachable cuisine with you.
Kuukua and her mom will be doing a demo of their special sugar loaf bread unique to Asempe Kitchen. They'll also be demoing how to make kontomire or spinach stew and red-red or stewed blackeyed peas, and rice and plantains, all Ghanaian staples. We'll be tasting all of these items along with their special habenero hot sauce (optional to taste).
Bread dough to take and bake and to-go meals of their fresh made catering will be available for sale at the end of the event. You'll want some after you try it, so plan on buying some and having Asempe Kitchen for dinner.
