Victoria Maizes, M.D.

While most health providers know that heart disease is preventable, we tend to think about it too narrowly. While we prescribe statins and recommend diets and exercise, we don't necessarily look at the larger causes that might be “breaking our hearts.” In her presentation, Dr. Victoria Maizes, executive director of the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. will discuss this broader paradigm and provide practical strategies to improve the health of our patients as well as our own well-being.

Mariano Palena, M.D., is the co-director, Interventional Radiology Unit, Policlinico Abano Terme, Abano Terme, Italy. He has authored numerous articles on peripheral artery disease and presented at numerous conferences, most recently including a live case presentation as a part of the Global Summit on Advanced Aortoiliac and Femoral Interventions for Peripheral Artery Disease at the NCVH Annual Conference in New Orleans.

Physicians, NP and PAs:  THMEP is accredited by the Arizona Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  THMEP designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.25 AMA PRA Category 1CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurse Practitioners: This education activity will be submitted to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners for approval of up to 7.25 contact hours of accredited education including 1.0 hours of pharmacology hours.

RNs: Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider No. 10161, Program Number 2017-1112 for 7.7 contact hours.

ASRT: Category A credits applied for.
