“Peace, My Heart” will feature the TLU Choir, TLU Treble Choir, and Kantorei Chamber Choir.
The title of the program is taken from a newly composed choral work gifted to the TLU Choir by Dr. Steven Sametz. The text, by Rabindranath Tagore, touches on the universal experience of life and death and how we are called as members of the human family to bring our light and our hearts to those in need during these challenging times.
Additional commissioned works will include “This Broken World Embrace,” by William Averitt with a new text by Dr. Robert Bode, and a newly commissioned arrangement of “De Colores” by Mari Esabel Valverde. The theme of peace and our call to serve every person in this broken world is woven throughout the program.
