Come out and give Valley Creek Trail some TLC for National Trails Day 2019!
Join the fun on Saturday, June 1st from 9:30AM - 4:30PM for this one-day service project aimed at restoring and rehabilitating the treasured Valley Creek Trail, a beautiful hike that leads you through Valley Creek Special Interest Area!
All skill levels are needed!
Service work will include:
Trail regrading & restoration
Corridor widening
Trash pickup
Clearing of drainage features
NOTE - This event is open to all ages, however:
- Forest Service policy requires minors (ages 17 and under) to fill out a volunteer service agreement and it must be signed by a parent/guardian
- Forms must be submitted by 5/27 to be approved by the district ranger
- Please contact Rubie Teffeteller for a form if these terms apply to you!
EVENT DETAILS:
This is a great opportunity to make friends, network, accrue volunteer service hours, give back to the forest, and gain hard-skills in trail stewardship!
Location
Meet at Valley Creek Trail Head in Plumas National Forest, Feather River Ranger District.
The trail head is located off of FS road 21N51 ("Devils Gap Rd"), which can be accessed from Quincy-Laporte Rd.

What's Provided
Water coolers will be provided so please bring refillable water bottles! PPE (personal protective equipment) will be provided on a first-come first-serve basis, depending on availability. Tools will be provided by Forest Service.
What to Bring
Packed lunch, snacks, water and/or refillable water bottles. Sunscreen, bug spray, hats, and layered clothing are recommended. If you have PPE such as work gloves and eye protection, please bring them!
Planning Ahead
If you or a family member are under the age of 18, please be sure to fill out a volunteer service agreement and have it signed by parent/guardian. These must be submitted days prior to the event for ranger approval.
