The Timothy J. Schmaltz Leadership in Advocacy Award was established in 2015 to honor the legacy of Timothy J. Schmaltz -- Founding Executive Director of PAFCO, social worker, and long-time health and human service community advocate. Tim’s lifelong dedication to Arizona’s poor and vulnerable populations have made a lasting impact. We thank Tim for his invaluable contributions to the community and to PAFCO.
The Timothy J. Schmaltz Leadership in Advocacy Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated a lifetime of powerful commitment to equity and unity, while giving a voice to vulnerable populations in Arizona.
The PAFCO Emerging Leader Award recognizes an individual who may be newer to the advocacy world but has demonstrated a commitment to policy, advocacy, or grassroots organizing for the betterment of all Arizonans.
Protecting Arizona's Family Coalition (PAFCO) is an inclusive and nonpartisan alliance of health and human service agencies, faith-based communities, and advocacy networks. PAFCO was formed in 2001 to advocate for alternatives to drastic state budget cuts in the health and human service sectors.
Our mission is to unite the community to be a powerful voice for Arizona's vulnerable.
Our vision is a just and thriving Arizona where all people are valued equally and living to their full potential.
