Title IX: Gathering Facts on Dating Violence, Partner Violence and Stalking
September 13, 2023 • 9:30 am - 12:30 pm (PDT)
Most Title IX professionals agree that complaints centered on dating violence or domestic violence are among the most challenging and complicated to address. In this comprehensive online program, Liz DeChellis and other T9 faculty will draw on their experiences working with allegations of partner violence and stalking and provide you with the background you need to navigate these emotionally charged cases.
Some of the topics covered in this program include:
- Managing the parties and witnesses
- Navigating trauma and secondary trauma
- Ensuring a fair process for all parties
- Understanding campus policies and their interactions with federal laws such as VAWA and the Campus SaVE Act
- Using medical records and other treatment records
- Working with law enforcement
This course will familiarize participants with the complex nature of these cases. While the program is built around the demands of investigation and fact-gathering, it will be beneficial for anyone who addresses student complaints. This includes Title IX coordinators, investigators, hearing officers/adjudicators, campus administrators, campus security, athletic directors and student life professionals.
Registration:
- Early registration: $350 (ends August 30, 2023)
- Regular registration: $400
