Event description

Description

California’s building code is getting more rigorous with each revision as we approach our Zero Net Energy (ZNE) goal, aim to reduce peak energy consumption, and slow demand for electricity and natural gas. The new code can seem complicated and expensive to implement for many Californians. This class provides general information on the code requirements and local resources available to help with the investment.

During this seminar, Martyn Dodd will summarize the new and revised requirements in the 2016 standards for residential, nonresidential and high-rise residential buildings and direct participants to informational and training resources that provide more in-depth Title 24 information.

The LA Dept. of Water & Power will review local utility rebate programs, requirements and processes. Funds are available for improvements required by Title 24 in addition to a host of other energy efficiency measures. Some rebates can cover 100% of the project cost!
